This here is my entry for FFXIII.net Forum's Monthly Art Contest. Their theme this month is unannounced FF summons for FFXIII. You can either draw already existing summons or create your own as I did.

Here, I used the mythological creature Qilin/Kirin. Since this isn't Fanart, I've placed the submission under Fantasy, durf.

Open Canvas for the sketch and painting. About a good 3 hours I'd say. Photoshop for colour adjustments and final touchups.

My main reason for choosing the Qilin? Monster Hunter, fuck yeah. The Kirin in that game is awesome ;-;

I like everything about this, aside from the hind leg. It kinda turns me off. >.>

The color is perfectly fine, it's more the shape that bugs me. >.> The front legs are arched, while the back is just kinda...limp. It also looks like a chicken leg. :9

I doubt you feel like editing it, but I'd suggest giving it either more outward curve or an inward bend. D:

I'll probably angle it off a bit more. After looking at the reference I used, it does look a bit like chicken legs xD
